Abstract

The article deals with the development of the mathematical model of longitudinal vibrations of the system “Floating drilling rig – heave motion compensator – drill string – drill bit” when drilling vertical wells with the help of the three-cone drill bit under the conditions of the sea irregular waves. The numerical model was developed in the environment of the multiphysics modeling and numerical experiments were conducted on the basis of the developed mathematical model and scripting language of the Modelica physical systems. Using the results of the experiments, we made the conclusions on the specifics of the drill string operation dynamics when drilling a well in the sea and nature of the influences of vibrations caused by the error of the heave motion compensator on the longitudinal vibrations of the drill string cross-sections and drill bit operation.
