APPLICATION OF METHODS FOR STUDYING THE FEATURES OF THE GEOLOGICAL STRUCTURE OF UNDERGROUND GAS STORAGE RESERVOIRS

The aim of the work is to apply methods for studying the features of the geological structure of underground gas storage facilities using the example of underground storage facilities in the Precarpathia. The research was conducted based on the application of the methodology for assessing the variability of reservoir parameters. The objects of study are the productive horizons of gas storage facilities in the Western Ukrainian region. The geological and industrial features of underground gas storage facilities in the Precarpathia were analyzed based on the processing of geological and geophysical materials. The paper presents methodological developments for studying the geological heterogeneity of reservoirs, which must be taken into account at the design stage of underground gas storage facilities. Based on the lithological and facies analysis and statistical processing of industrial and geological data, the nature of the heterogeneity of reservoirs in terms of the area of deposits and in terms of section was studied. It was established that the productive horizons of the Opar and Uher underground gas storage facilities are very heterogeneous. It should be noted that the variability of reservoir properties in terms of area is observed to a greater extent in the Uherske underground storage facility, and in terms of section in the Oparske underground storage facility. The results of the study of the geological properties of gas storage facilities are presented based on the analysis of the constructed maps: porosity, permeability, sand content, effective gas-saturated thicknesses, distribution of reservoir rocks, as well as geological and geophysical profiles. A number of statistical data processing methods were used. Histograms were constructed based on the results of processing the porosity and permeability values of productive horizons of underground gas storage facilities in the Precarpathian trough.When designing new gas storage facilities and when adjusting technological projects for UGSs in operation, it is recommended to take into account the variability of reservoirs, which affects the filtration properties of the reservoir, respectively, the amount of active gas volume and the productivity of production wells.
